After a little pushing from their friends both Matt and Monica joined the same online dating website, eHarmony.  At first they passed over each other's profile because they lived so far apart, but something told Monica to at least take a look at his profile.  His profile made her want to know more, she "winked" at him and got the conversation going.  They began talking through emails and text; and about a month later they finally met on their first date!

 

Their first date was relaxed and fun, they ended up talking for almost 6 hours!  After such an amazing date, neither Matt nor Monica went on a date with anyone else.

 

The Proposal

Monica picked Matt up from the airport on Friday evening, they went home and had dinner.  After dinner, Matt asked Monica if she wanted to play a game (not unusal for them), she said yes.  They both got into some comfy clothes.  He made them some drinks and pulled out the game "Battle of the Sexes".  

Monica was one question away from winning when Matt looked at the card and exclaimed "This isn't fair!  This question is so easy for you!"  What Monica didn't know was that Matt had replaced the card with one he had hidden.  Matt told Monica to "just read it" and passed her the card face down.  Monica, being the competitive spirit that she is, didn't want the win to be given to her that way, so she covered the card when she picked it up to only see the question.  She read the first question and looked up at Matt, she noticed something in his hand and it was shiny!  She then moved her hand so she could read the whole question card and Matt had crossed off the 3rd question & answer and in its place he wrote:

"Q: Will you marry me?"

"A: YES!"

Monica was so shocked and excited!  It took a minute for her to be able to speak, but she said "YES!!" and Matt placed the beautiful ring on her finger.  It was the perfect moment for them.
